15 hounds had a calm romp around Ham Hill country park in dull but dry weather. There was the usual joshing about "up hill", but as we started at the top it came again to me how hard it is to please some people. It was nice to welcome some new faces - eg Mark from Southampton - whose hound Nelson also made his mark by vanishing up a hill followed by his athletic owner but to the unkind amusement of some Nelson ran back to rejoin us after Mark had got to the top. This was particularly wounding to me as I had reassured people to release their hounds " they won't run off, the pack instinct is too strong." Well I was partly right.

Still this was the 80th walk and we've not lost a single hound yet.
