Once upon a time, this was our Basset walk at Exmouth. Can we recapture this excitement again?

Last year those who came may remember my Harmony decided to leave The Pack and play with some strangers near the lifeboat so by the time I retrieved her and caught you up, most had disppeared. So please everyone keep an eye out for her - and me.

This will be the eighth time we have hit Exmouth - which along with Burnham beach - seems to attract the most hounds. As high tide that day is 9.17am we may have to reverse the order and walk on the cliff, returning via the beach to get round the point. Those who've done the walk before will know that we have a good half-mile walk along the grassy Maer before we have to decide which route to take.

The whole walk is just four miles with a café at half way round, so only two really . . .

Directions to the start are: Follow the A376 right in to Exmouth (keeping to right at traffic lights). At the roundabout by station and Marks & Spencer, go right at the 2nd exit and follow signs to seafront. Drive along the front, past the Premier Inn. Look for a new water sports centre on your right just before a Z bend. If you drive past the Z bend you've missed the entrance (on your left). The postcode is I believe EX8 2GD.

Meet at 10.30 as usual.
