BasetHound Walkers at Swindon

RE-SCHEDULED to FEBRUARY 9th (Jan 5th cancelled because much of the park was underwater, Guy's mobile: 0758 265 3314).

MEET ON THE MAIN LAWN IN FRONT OF THE HOUSE AT 10:30

Guy will be leading this walk and as he says we don’t normally have a January walk – well we didn't '. . . .

To kick off our 2014 programme we are going to have a very easy (flat) amble around Lydiard Park in Swindon; a 260 acre ‘Estate’ owned by Swindon Council, and run as a Country Park. We will be wandering around field edges, through copses, across ornamental lawns. There is an extensive network of ‘hard’ paths we can follow if ground conditions aren’t good!

Details of the Park are here and from that page there are links to the historic house and walled gardens which also there.

There are tearooms and a café on site (both are ‘No Dogs’ inside).

Directions to the 10.30am start are here - - we will be using the Hay Lane entrance, hopefully parking at the rear of the walled garden (there is plenty of parking within a couple of minutes walk; if that’s full), which is as far along the driveway as you can get (see below). (Any queries to Guy here please).

I thought this was for squirrels but apparently it's an aerial playground for children, not Bassets.
